“Chinese Independent Documentary Film”
$3,000 in curricular funding for the development of a new course in the department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations exposing students to documentary film practices in contemporary China and their effects on the entire documentary genre.

“20th Century Aesthetics and Application to Stage Design”
$4,864 in funding for the development of a new course exploring stage design in the 20th Century covering Victoriana to Modanna.

“Shakespeare Lecture Course, Spring 2006”
$3,500 in funding for the development of an interactive website for students studying Shakespeare and for an in-class performance with local actors.

“Viewing and Listening in the Nineteenth Century”
$5,000 in curricular funding for the development of a new course

“Art, Community, and Activism”
$3,480 in curricular funding for guest lecturers and travel expenses to experimental art spaces in Chicago

Theories of Media and The Chicago School of Media Theory
$4,500 to underwrite revisions to the curriculum

Dramaturgies of Opera, Theatre, Dance, and Film
$756 to subsidize purchase of tickets for students to city performance venues

Early Music and Performance
$3,500 in support of Newberry Consort residency/demonstration in conjunction with course
